Captain Joseph House Foundation provides a unique service, extending the continuum of care for military families who have lost a loved one and made the ultimate sacrifice. Founded to provide respite and educational support to the families of the Fallen, Captain Joseph House Foundation is a 501(C)(3) charitable organization.
In addition to providing a respite/retreat opportunity for families to heal and rebuild, Captain Joseph House Foundation will offer a modest scholarship program to assist children of the Fallen with post-high school educational expenses. Applications will be available from the Foundation office once the Captain Joseph House is operational.

Port Angeles Mom of Fallen Soldier Trying to Open Retreat for War Families Feb. 20, 2014 – KING5-TV
Betsy Schultz always dreamed of opening an inn. It’s just in her nature to take care of people. “I love to cook and wherever I lived, lots of folks would come and just stay,” she said. Schultz lived her dream for nine years, operating a B&B in Port Angeles and sharing it with her son when he’d come visit. “In fact, he did some cooking and housekeeping just to say he’d done a little bed and breakfast with his mom,” she said. But then everything changed. Her son, 36 year old Capt. Joseph Schultz, an Army Green Beret, died in Afghanistan after hitting an IED. His mother’s heart was shattered.

Tracy, with Tracy’s Insulation, Your Local Insulation Experts, Clallam and Jefferson Counties, just minutes ago donated the insulation and gutters for the entire project for Captain Joseph House’s Remodel! In talking with Tracy this morning he said, “This is only right and we are honored to participate!” Thank you to Tracy and his company for honoring our Gold Star Families.
